● Juju Archive - The Roppongi Video Happy Hour (2003-11-26) Please god make it stop! And whatever you do, don't look at this one either. I'm going to have nightmares of this freakish 3 year old. Seriously though, this Rob Pongi guy is HILARIOUS! Especially the Japanese Women Looking For Foreign Friends videos where he reads the broken Engrish from Japanese personals. And he somehow manages to do it with a straight face. According to the FAQ: "The Roppongi Video Happy Hour" is showing the world a light-hearted and sometimes satirical view of Japanese society and culture as it is seen through the eyes of Rob Pongi." - by Tony Buser
● Best Music Videos - Internet Video Magazine (2003-11-20) Are you into Korean music videos? We're talking about music from North Korea. Rob Pongi, one of our contributors, has been collecting, translating and posting an assortment of music and propaganda videos from North Korea. Some are quite cute like Mo Kin singing a cute little song called "My Parents Kiss" and others are much more raw. In this short music video, three "Genius Kids" sing a song called "Kim Jong Il's Roses" in a recent celebration of his birthday.
● "private english roppongi f*ing USA video hour " (2003-11-10) So I'm doing a little surfing, and I come across this sort of weird, sort of creepy North Korean music video, called "Fucking USA" - Go watch the video, it's interesting (and funny in a disturbing way) on several levels, I promise. Ok, but let's get to the end of the video and to title that reads "English translation by Rob Pongi. RobPongi.com". - YOW. - I was expecting to find a small business card type site, but instead I found...."The Roppongi Video Happy Hour!"
- Rob Pongi is apparently some sort of video jester who runs his own interview/satire show from what looks to be an alleyway in Tokyo. He wears a strange outfit (explained in the Rob Pongi FAQ ) No really, go watch a couple videos. They're real eye openers. Posted by illovich
● pBlog2 (2003-11-01)
www.robpongi.com I dunno who Rob Pongi is but there are some really interesting quicktimes of Korean commercials, North Korean propaganda and other stuff that will surely blow the american media mind. There's a link there to TokyoDV and that is another fine source of surreal goodness. "Television has attacked us for a lifetime, now we strike back." - Nam June Paik R-O-C-K in the R-V-A - by Patrick Power.
● The California College Kid: Rob Pongi (2003-10-26) LOL... well I just got finished watching a whole slew of hilarious english/japanese videos on this new web-site I just came across. Rob Pongi (ぽんぎ) is kind of a freelance videographer who loves Japan, and decided to start an online TV show called the Roppongi Video Happy Hour. I came across the site through another blog that had a link to video on his site with this amazing three year old Korean girl playing the xylophone. The site I was on suggested she could be a full grown midget. Whatever the case, she is REALLY cute!! Nyhoo, go to that that site, some of the videos are hilarious!! さよなら - Laters - by matt
● [ Film anti-Bush: FUCKN'USA à voir! ] (2003-10-21)
- by erick_77

● buffoonery.org | A Seattle weblog - Those Wacky Japanese (2003-10-01) RobPongi.com's videos are a crazy remix of Japanese culture through a big white guy. They found FUCKING USA . I also enjoy "Japanese Women Looking For Foreign Friends" in the personals section where Rob reads Japanese personal ads very clearly and slowly while rowing a boat. Also, check out TokyoDV.com for great videos in the same vein. By Manuel Wanskasmith

● A Guide to Design and Pop Culture in Tokyo - Film Marmalade Short Film Festival (2002-11-19)
One of the funniest shorts there was by Rob Pongi, who has a whole bunch of short videos on his site. The personals are especially funny. And yes, he was wearing the same outfit last night that he wears in all of his videos. You can also check out the TokyoDV site, which is affiliated with last night's event. - Jean Snow
● The World's Best Video Web Sites - Internet Video Magazine (2002-10-10) Ready to take a trip on the weird side? Check out RobPongi.com, a site dedicated to the short videos and films produced by, and starring Rob Pongi of Tokyo DV. It is in English and most of the material is based on life in Japan, featuring Japanese culture, arts and music. But there is a bunch of odd and strange stuff tossed in there as well, especially the conversation and interview clips. The personals section is Rob Pongi reading fractured English letters from Japanese women looking for overseas soul mates. However, for a true cultural experience, the numerous music and culture clips can't be beat.
